How to Take Charge (in Spite of Mother Nature!)
Oct 31st, 2011 by vclarke
This time of year typically finds us picking apples or raking leaves as we anticipate Halloween and other autumn festivities; the unfortunate and bold arrival this weekend of a devastating nor’easter reminds us of our modest place in the cosmos. While we may mourn the loss of a favorite tree or curse the inconveniences of a temporarily “unplugged” existence, we gain a broader perspective by stepping back for a moment. This frustrating fluke of weather, though beyond our control, will not alter significantly the courses of most of our lives. In some matters we have input; in most natural disasters, we have none.
At New Directions, we believe in taking control of those matters in which we can make a difference. We support and empower individuals who are committed to re-directing their professional lives. An attorney who has stepped away from the practice, never practiced, or pursued a different career may need direction, refreshed skills, a boost in confidence. Our 5 1/2 month program provides all of this and much, much more. While we cannot guarantee that the forces of nature will never interfere with class sessions (snow days have occurred each winter!), we can promise that we will assist you in identifying and navigating a new path.
Session One 2012 begins January 17 and runs through June 29, 2012. Classes will be conducted at the Pace Graduate Center at One Martine Avenue, White Plains, NY, and applications are currently being accepted. To learn more, please come to our Information Session Friday, November 18, 12 noon – 2 pm at the Pace Midtown Center, 551 Fifth Avenue (45th & Fifth), 8th Floor, New York NY. Please RSVP to Amy Gewirtz at agewirtz@law.pace.edu. We look forward to seeing you there!
